Tuesday, September 30, 2008 Reading Improved
Kids have improved their reading grades. Both had C's last week now they are at B's. The boy is really working on sounding his words out which is helping him and The girl is concentrating on what she is reading and remembering it so that when she takes her reading tests she does better which is helping her grade. It was a do nothing chilly day today. I am trying to finish a book I started the other day, its really good. Count to Ten by Karen Rose. Check it out sometime. I should be doing outside work, so many dried up flowers that need to be cut down and if it doesn't rain tomorrow I might get that done. I also need to get the dogs in the tub and scrub them up for the last time until next spring. I don't like to bathe them in the winter so they don't go out and get sick.

Monday, September 29, 2008 MIL MONDAY First things first, sending a note with the kids requesting the bus driver drop them off at the house. The school who I have fought with before the kids even started school have elected to leave it up to the bus driver to decide so the note will be going to her. We will see how this pans out today. I have never agreed with the fact that it can pick them up at the house and then doesn't bring them back down. The old bus drivers excuse was there was a family with little kids out running around. No kids out running around anymore they all ride the bus now so that's not a valid excuse anymore. MIL MONDAY Story number 2 She calls me at 5am and asks "What cha doin?" Through gritted teeth I say sleepin. Then she says I'm sorry I'll let you get back to sleep. She has a dog (5 actually) but one of them wakes her at 5am every morning to go out. So she must think everyone gets up at the butt crack of dawn. People I don't get up at 5am even on school days. 5:50 am that's it. That's when I wake. At 5am I'm asleep. Me bed asleep. I told the hubs I like your mother I do but if she calls me again at 5am I'm going to take her phone away and put it in a place that was never made for her phone. Seriously call me at 5 am somebody better be dyin or dead. ugh

The Man: I don't even want to tell you about my computer. Me:And I don't want to hear it. The Man:I didn't do anything It was fine then I went to bed and this morning it was all messed up. Me: (I'm not saying anything because I didn't believe it the last time he said it.) Seriously folks watch out for them freakin computer gremlins they will crawl into your computer while you sleep and just mess it up to the point its easier to restore it to factory settings than it is to try and figure out what they (he) did to it. Need a Laugh? Do you need a laugh? Sure you do, who doesn't?!Yesterday morning I did my toenails. Then I did my nails. I get up and put my nailpolish back where it goes and go back to sit down. My bra comes unhooked. I can't rehook it cause my nails are wet. So I sit, with bra unhooked, waiting for nails to dry so I can rehook. I think its safe to say I need a new bra. OMG I have one that everytime I bend over to pick something up my boobs fall out. This one comes unhooked at the absolute worst times, (last week when I wore it the stupid thing came unhooked in the grocery store of all places) crap! Bra shopping is not my favorite thing to do. I hate it really hate it. Nothing puts me in a bad mood like shopping for a bra. Most now days have padding, I don't need it. Trust me I got enough of my own thanks. Note to bra makers EVERYWHERE not everyone is flat chested. Please have a non padded bra out there by October 1st so I can find one. Wish me luck! KKMommy wrote @ 6:35 AM... ||

Not mine but aren't they cute?! Saw them at the festival a few weeks ago. You can tell which one is older, the one closest to the man has alot of gray around the eyes and when he approached a stop sign to wait for traffic she automatically sat down the other he had to show her to sit down. All in all though both are very well behaved. Onto my Tuesday Tidbits Today we have Laundry, well bedsheets and I need to get all those clothes put away. Taco Tuesday-Supper mmmmm can't wait The girl has Volleyball-its a free clinic to show them how its played, not often this school gives free stuff so thought better let her try it. The boy has soccer practice. We must come home in between volleyball and soccer and get our tacos eaten then head out again. Busy busy week. Dancing with the Stars-yeah I watched, some people I don't even know but I will say this Cloris Leachman was a riot last night. She had me in stitches! And now for the ultimate act of not engaging brain before mouth comes from The Man. He says to me this morning. "You don't work" WTH?!!!! I don't WORK I don't WORK I don't WORK........ If I don't work who cleans this house, If I don't work who does the laundry, If I don't work who takes care of the kids, If I don't work who makes sure the bills are paid on time (True I don't make the money to pay them but I do make sure they are paid on time), If I don't work who gets groceries in this house to eat. UGH This man is still alive which just means I have patience to deal with his stupidity of not engaging his brain before speaking. Now lucky for him he has a wife who when ticked off uses that energy to clean not to wipe his butt off the planet. What I should have done today was absolutely nothing to drive his point home that I don't WORK. But alas I have gotten clean laundry put away, well all but his and he can do it himself. I have gotten the computer desk in the other room cleaned up and cleaned out that one corner looks very nice now. I have also gotten the bed sheets washed and they are out hanging on the line. Monday, September 22, 2008 MIL MONDAY MIL MONDAY Now this may not be a weekly thing and it just might become a weekly thing. With my MIL you never know. I'm sure Kelli could post weekly about her MIL too. ;) Okay here's my mil gripe (ahem I mean story). The woman cannot take NO for an answer. She has been giving the girl little dolls, almost like porcelin ones, The girl collects them so that's not the problem. The girl had them on a 4 tier shelf. Which was getting full. Now a couple weeks ago MIL saw this and said I have a corner shelf she can have. I said she doesn't have room for it so no thanks. After we take her home she shows me this shelf that I have already stated we do not have room for. Again I politely decline saying she doesn't have room for it. A week passes she shows up for another doctor appointment for the Man to take her to. She comes in carrying the corner shelf. I sit on the couch watching and smiling through gritted teeth. I don't say a word. She proceeds to sit the shelf in the middle of my hallway and says I called (the man) and asked if it was okay to bring the girl the shelf I promised her and he said it was okay. (me-screaming inside my head, really cause he heard me say no to it at least 5 times). They leave for her appointment and I push the shelf to the wall. The girl comes home from school and proceeds to take it to her room where she moves the other shelf over so she can sit this one in the corner. I go have a looksee. okay honey open the drawer under your bed and get jammies out for tonight. She tries but cannot open it cause the other shelf is against it. This is why I said no there is no room for it. So I said if you want the corner shelf you have to empty all the dolls off the 4 tier shelf and use the corner shelf but you cannot have both. Now I have a 4 tier shelf in my hallway that I don't know what to do with. Well I do know what to do with it but MIL isn't going to like it cause it won't be one bit comfy for her. Pictures of the boy's first game, that's him light blue #3 trying to get control of the ball. His 3rd game is this Saturday. I forgot the camera last Saturday. I have started a load of laundry, folded a load, picked up my living room of dog toys ( I swear this dog is worse than the kids dragging out her toys lol) swept and cleaned one bathroom already this morning and I have only been up for an hour and a half. Go me! Need to make a store run today for a couple things. This is normal, I go to the grocery with a list but still manage to forget something. The boy has soccer practice tonight. Having spaghetti for supper, baked, mmmmm good. Make it like normal only double up on sauce and mix it all together put in a cake pan top with mozzerella then 350 for 30 minutes in the oven. Sunday, September 14, 2008 Soccer, Ike, Gas, Rain The boy's team won their soccer game yesterday. I'm impressed with how the boy controlled that ball. It was so windy yesterday too.Ike-My thoughts are with everyone affected by this storm. It not only affects those who had destruction in their area but everyone as I watch the gas prices go up by 50 cents in my area. Its okay we don't need to eat. We are due to get rains from Ike, national weather says it will stay north of us, local weather says it will get us for heavy rain and flooding so we will wait and see what happens. Going to my parents today for dinner. Supposed to be stormy all day so kids won't be able to play outside like they normally do there. Have to play cards or something. Been so busy adding songs to my dell dj I haven't taken any pictures in a few days so want to try and get some today. Back to music though I could use some names. Thursday, September 11, 2008 IN MEMORY  Where were you?I don't think I will ever forget this day. I was sitting on the couch listening to the police scanner when one of the officers radioed into the station to turn on the tv. Curious I did also, about 5 seconds later the second plane hit the World Trade Center. I remember yelling for the man to come in and see it. When he finally did they switched over to the pentagon and the man being ex Army was ticked off. I don't think I changed the channel on the tv once that day. Its stayed on the news and I sat on the couch watching and at times covering my mouth which was hanging open in total shock. Just like most of the Nation I went out and bought flags to line up in front of my house. This was the first time I can ever remember stores and I do mean all stores selling out of the American flag. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 Where Did It Go? Where did the weekend go?! Goodness it just flew by.Saturday we had my MIL over to go to the festival in town. We go for the parade every year. It was good, my older brother was in it driving the service truck for the place he works, they were advertising since they are technically still a new business. After that we came home and I started mowing, got part of the yard mowed before running out of gas and having to quit. Sunday the boy had his first soccer game. They lost by two but they did great. The boy got the first goal. This kid was on it, he would get in there and get that ball and take off with it, 3 miss aims kept him from getting 3 more goals but he had control of that ball otherwise. lol So proud! Monday was the hubster's birthday. Kids off to school he went and played golf. Then had him stop and get gas for the mower but for some reason I did not get the yard finished up and it rained hard last night so won't be doing it this morning either. Anyway, we picked the kids up from school and took the hubs to eat at his favorite place. They were so nice. Gave him a complimentary brownie ice cream dish, they didn't charge us for the three pieces of coffee cake we ordered and they didn't charge me for my salad I tacked onto my order. This isn't the only reason we keep going back, they just have great food and service. Home to have kids do homework then played some basketball with the boy. He's getting better at making baskets too so he will be ready when Upward starts again this year. Today kids are off to school, I have cleaned house, MIL and hubs are off to her appointment to have a bump removed from her eyelid. I'm chillin, literally, its a cooler day by far, I have the AC off and the house opened up. Hope everyone else had a great weekend. :) KKMommy wrote @ 8:16 AM... ||

Wednesday, September 3, 2008 GOLFING, NOTHING Monday evening we took the kids golfing and to answer a question in comments, No I do not golf, just the hubs. When I say we took, I mean I went along to take pictures. First hole was a par 4 The kids did it in 20 lol. The second hole was a par 4 they did it in 12 (getting the hang of it now) The third hole they did in 12 also, the fourth hole was down a steep hill, both kids screamed all the way down in the cart lol. But they did this hole in less than 10 and I think it was a par 3 but not sure. It took forever but I think they enjoyed it and will really like it when they learn how to control the ball, although the hubs did hit a tree with one of his lol.Me I'm doin nothing yesterday, I did shopping early, this morning I went and paid the eletric bill again early. Course I was up at 2am to let the girl I babysit go home so my Tuesday nights and Wednesday nights aren't much sleep so generally Wed and Thur you will find me sacked out on the couch unless I'm on here or half doing (trying to remember) the laundry. Monday, September 1, 2008 MONDAY MUSINGS I have a ME brag. I fixed our bed. By myself! I walked out to the shed and toted the plywood back to the garage. I got out the circular saw. I set up the saw horses. I measured the boards I would need out of this sheet of plywood. I cut them with the saw. I put everything away. I toted the boards into the bedroom where I had earlier taken our mattress and box springs off the bed. I laid out the freshly cut slats on our frame and put the bed back together. We were so afraid we were going to have to get a new mattress and box springs because before we would lay down and instantly get a backache. Well no more. Nope since I fixed it no back aches. Not to say we don't still need a mattress but at least it can wait til tax refund time and we can get one we want instead of settling for one 300 or less, our budget right now. So Yeah me I can do stuff!!!We went to Kmart and the man saw kids starter golf club sets on sale and wanted them for the kids. I said are we agreed this is part of their christmas. Yes. So we got them. Kids were very happy with their early presents.
