Saturday, August 30, 2008 Quiet Its too quiet here. Kids have once again deserted me for their grandparents house. They left yesterday evening. Meaning the hubs and I had a quiet night alone. We went fishing this morning. I would have taken pictures but we had a contest going since it was just the two of us. Whoever caught the most fish won a backrub. There were no backrubs we tied 32 to 32. Yes that many fish. Not big mind you but still if we reeled it in then it counted if it jumped off the hook before we got it in then it didn't count. At one point I was ahead by 6 then behind by 3 then we tied and said let's go. lol we were tired and hungry. Stopped for a late lunch then home. Once home I napped in the chair. Woke when I heard him walk out of the room to go to bed before he has to work. I just did my toenails and just pretty much relaxing. Wondering what the kids are doing but knowing them as I do they have just climbed out of the swimming pool and will be asleep in no time I'm sure. Next weekend I think I will make them stay home. Thursday, August 28, 2008 SICK BOY, PEACHES EVERYWHERE The boy woke with a tummy ache saying he didn't wanna go to school so I whipped out the thermometer thinking okay no fever you can go. He had a fever of 100.9 so gave him meds and sent him back to bed. At noon he still had a fever but it was down to 100.1 more meds. Evening it was down to 98.8 so he's getting there. He didn't have one a few minutes ago when he wanted it checked so hopefully he can get back to school tomorrow.Peaches peaches everywhere peaches. Our tree is loaded. I have put up 12 quarts in the freezer, I am now out of containers I think. I need to go back and count and make sure it could be more than 12 quarts. I made a pot of peach sauce. You can make applesauce so why not peach sauce. I thought I would give it a go. Its cooked, mashed and cooling now. I will let you know how it tastes tomorrow lol. Smells so good in here now. So if nothing else I have made my house smell like cooked peaches. mmmmmmm UPDATE Its 15 quarts I counted them and the peach sauce OMG yummy KKMommy wrote @ 7:48 PM... ||
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 SAD Last Sunday my brother's girlfriend announced she was 7 weeks pregnant. My brother was in shock, he wasn't wanting kids. Not sure if he was getting used to it or not. This past Sunday she woke and found blood. My brother took her to the ER and yes sadly she was miscarrying the baby. Today she goes in for a DandC. I know it wasn't a planned pregnancy but its still sad. My thoughts will be with her today as she has this done. I didn't have to have one of those. When I miscarried before the girl I passed it. So I know what its like to loose a baby. There's nothing anyone can say that will help, there's nothing anyone can do to help, it just takes time. Words people say just comfort you and you know they are there for you should you need them. But getting over a miscarriage just takes time. I don't think I went anywhere for a week after mine. I just didn't wanna talk to anyone or see any babies. I remember that day, I had spotted the day before and gone to the doctor and he gave me a shot hoping to save it. Apparently one of my hormone levels wasn't rising like it should. Well the next day I passed something so I took it to the doctor it was part of the placenta or something he said. The man and I went to the store to get food to cook for dinner. I had a really bad painful cramp the kind that makes you wanna pass out while we were at the store. Went home and that's when I passed the rest of it. I sat on the edge of the toilet and just cried and cried. The man came in and called the doctor and described it to him and he told him what it was, which I already knew and I could not flush that toilet, the man had to do it. After two or three hours I calmed down enough to call my dad to let him know but as soon as he answered the phone my heart jumped up in my throat. I told him and the first question people ask is How? I told him about the hormone level but I was crying the whole time so not sure if he understood what I was saying or not. My cousin had miscarried her baby a few weeks before so she called me to let me know when I was ready to talk I could call her. My brother's girlfriend knows she can call me too. I mean we aren't that close but I know what she's feeling and I can't turn my back on that. KKMommy wrote @ 8:13 AM... ||
Saturday, August 23, 2008 ASTERS IN BLOOM The kids went with my parents last night, going to stat the weekend with them. I worked on the family book last night. Got a little sidetracked when hubs had trouble with his computer and I had to restore it, yes I just did that what a couple months ago. Easier to do that then try and figure out what he's done to it. Then I found his family crest online and wanted to see if I could find my family's which I did then I started looking for other family crests and found a good portion of them but didn't find one for my mom's family which sucks. Its a nice sunny day today. I don't plan on doing much of anything I did all the laundry the last few days so not enough to mess with. Kids rooms are still clean so don't have to mess with picking them up. I definately need to do some blog reading and commenting. I get a hit on information for the family and before I know it time is lost as I research it so I want to read some blogs first thing this morning and then I will look more at our tree lol. Leeann asked "You are really hot into the Family Tree, aren't you? I think that is cool! Are you using particular sites to help you or just wandering about on the Net?" Yes I am and will as long as I keep information coming in its when I get stuck on all avenues that I put it away for a while. I use ancestry.com, genforum, sometimes I type in the search box the person's name and the place they died cause you might find stories from long ago that will give you clues to other family members and its just neat to read old stories. I found several stories on how strongly my mom's ancestor's believed in free speech and were often called out on it, ending up before the magistrates for their talk. Found out a house that hubs 10times great grandfather built still stands today and I found pictures of it so that's neat too. KKMommy wrote @ 8:56 AM... ||

Thursday, August 21, 2008 TGIAF Thank god its almost Friday. Its been one of those kinds of weeks you wish payday had been a week ago. Stretch it stretch it stretch it. So far so good I think. I have gotten the boy's room all cleaned and organized and he has managed to keep it that way all week long. Wow! Wednesday I cleaned and organized the girl's room, I won't bother saying how much trash I got out of it, I won't bother saying how many dishes I got out of it, I won't bother saying how many loads of laundry came out of that one room. You can imagine it if you dare. She came home from school and by night fall had two pieces of paper on the floor which I made her get out of bed and go throw away. This morning I had to follow her to her room and make her throw her clothes in the hamper. Why can the six year old do it but the 9 year old can't?! Still family tree'in and have gone back several generations on the hubs side which I am glad cause I was so stuck then I found an obit that opened several doors. I have gotten three loads of laundry done today and working on the fourth. Its not all put away but at least its clean and folded. KKMommy wrote @ 7:40 PM... ||
Saturday, August 16, 2008 Generations Let's see I have gone back another generation on my dad's side. Found out more information on my mom's side. I have contacted a person on my dad's side and we have been emailing information back and forth all day. I also contacted a person on my mom's side and we have been emailing back and forth all day. I love it when I find new family tree stuff. Yeah!!! I can't just stuff the book on the shelf and say enough for now, nooooo not when I am still finding stuff. Now when I run into too many brick walls I will put it away for awhile. So far that's not happening lol.Kids had a fun first day of school on Friday. It was only half a day so we will see how they are on Monday after the first full day of school. I think the boy is catching a cold. He's been stuffy at night. The girl has had a headache most of the day. KKMommy wrote @ 11:15 PM... ||

Tuesday, August 12, 2008 Holy Smokes I have been in a whirlwind it seems like. Busy busy busy. My cousin Andi was up this past weekend and stayed with us and we worked on the family tree. Found some information on some of our ancestors but then we also found many brick walls, you know those things that stop you when you think you are on a roll. lol So we basically worked on that stuff from sun up to sun down literally. Then she left Monday morning to go back home cause I couldn't get out of fishing. Yes fishing my dad had borrowed a boat and wanted to go and take the kids and my dad does so much for us at times its hard to tell him no. So we spent all day on the lake, my sunburned face can prove it. I think I was the one that got the worst toasting face wise. We spent a good part of the day going from cove to cove not catching anything and me saying let's just go now. So we get to this nice sized cove and we start catching them then dad wants to leave cause sitting all day was making his back hurt lol. Then this morning Kaylie had to have a tooth pulled. Took all of a few seconds, she worked herself up and didn't want to go through with it but the doctor finally got her to inhale some nitrous and then explained things differently as she did them, I'm sorry I accidently pinched your cheek with my long finger nail (actually when she got the numbing shot) I'm just looking at the tooth and hugging it so I know what I have to do to it (actually pulling it out) then it was all over and Kaylie felt a little foolish for getting so worked up so not even going to tell her about the next appointment til we are there cause she worried about it all week. Came home and I took a nap. Now if I can get my head out of the foggy whirlwind and get back to day to day things and reading blogs and blogging I will be good lol. KKMommy wrote @ 5:26 PM... ||

Thursday, August 7, 2008 THURSDAY'S THOUGHTS I read another book-Warrior's Embrace by Peggy Webb a Silhouette Special Edition which brings my total to 16 for the year. My goal is 50 I'm behind.I'm finally feeling better. Yeah!!! I'm getting the house clean. Yeah!!! I sign the kids up for school today. Half Yeah and Half ugh! Obviously I have mixed feelings on this. I miss them when they are gone but when they are home they drive me nuts, go figure. I have the house opened up as of now. Its 69 degrees and a nice cool breeze coming in the birds chirping. Its going to get up to 83 degrees today so by noon the house will more than likely be shut back up. I started looking into the family tree again yesterday. My cousin might come over and we will try and find some new info Hopefully! The fresh air smells so good. Tomorrow is payday, YEAH!!!! Can get some food in the house, we are getting kind of bare around here lol. KKMommy wrote @ 9:19 AM... ||
Tuesday, August 5, 2008 RAIN, SLEEP, FAIR First its raining this morning it started last night and thundered all night long waking me several times and the times the thunder didn't wake me the girl did. At one point screaming cause she lost a tooth, didn't loose loose it this time like she did last time just lost it where it came out finally! So at 2 in the morning we were clearing a place off her desk to put her tooth so that the tooth fairy could find it. Its a good sleeping day today with the rain. It makes me drowsy. I'm so glad I picked up the house last night. Yesterday we went to a fair. I don't know what it is about the mil but the closer we get to being near her the crappier the man gets. I mean she went to the track with us a couple weeks ago. The man catered to her wishes over mine. I get that its his mom and all but dam it I'm his wife he has to live with me. So last night she apparently wasn't feeling well, which has me thinking, Why did she even go? So she wanted to sit in the hospitality tent and rest. I shit you not people, she sat there the entire time and so did the man. I walked the kids around letting them ride some rides and stuff. The man was kind of crappy cause I let the kids go into those walk through things like the fun house and the pirate ship. I said its what they wanted to do. They sure as heck didn't want to sit watching people walk by a tent all night. He said the purpose of the night was to visit with his mom. So I am gonna repeat that I do not go to fairs to sit on my butt in a hospitality tent, if I wanna sit on my butt I will stay home. The man and the girl did ride a ride together before we left. The octopus and I tried to tell her she wouldn't like it, it goes up and down while going in a circle and the thing they sit in spins as well. As soon as it took off she got that look on her face and I knew she didn't like it. By the end she was crying and saying she felt like she was gonna hurl. Don't listen to mama she doesn't know you at all! After that we headed home. Once home I put the kids to bed and started cleaning. I don't know where the energy came from but glad it got done. All I really need to do is run the sweeper. I worked up quite a sweat picking up the kids rooms, yeah I have some nerve being sick and taking 4 days off. Nobody picks up the slack, well the girl picked up the living room but let her room go to crap. Same with the boy's room, omg. But they are done and now the only thing on my living room floor are the dog's toys cause she's worse than the kids about taking every single toy out of the basket tossing it in the air and then going back for a different one. One more book finished. Sisters & Secrets by Katherine Stone, Anne Stuart, Donna Julian and Jodie Larsen KKMommy wrote @ 10:36 AM... ||
Monday, August 4, 2008 SHORT HAIR, MESSY MONDAY Yesterday we came home from my parents house and the kids wanted hair cuts so I did the boy's hair first. He pretty much wants it buzzed to 3/4 inch all over. Not a big deal with the clippers. The girl I was just going to trim her bangs which I've done alot. But she wanted shorter hair and I said I have never done before. I have watched the stylist though so I thought I would give it a go. Put it up and did a section at a time, taking my time to make sure everything was right. I think it turned out great. She loves it. I love long hair but its her hair and that's what she wanted. We styled it this morning.
What do I mean by messy monday. Well the house for one, since I was sick for about 4 days the house went to crap. I do mean crap. I tried to clean up a little last night but my energy level isn't all that great. So going to try and get some cleaning done today. At least the kitchen and the living room lol. Kids are on their own, they are old enough to do their own rooms and should be doing them. I love it when they say but she helped or he helped. I said well you keep waiting for me to do it and I know I didn't make the mess. Its your room if you don't want the other one making a mess then you tell them to leave the room. Its your room Your responsibility! We are going to a small town fair tonight, its a yearly thing so I hope the man doesn't have to carry me around due to my lack of energy lol. Saturday, August 2, 2008 ME-UPDATE My fever must have broken again last night cause I woke up drenched, no that's not the word I wanna use. I woke up soaking wet from sweat. ugh So I checked my temp this morning and it was 96.7 I don't run a normal temp so anything under 97 is normal for me. So I am laying off the tylenol and seeing if the temp comes back.I have no energy though, I told the girl if she picked up her room she could do laundry for me. She has one load started and about 5 to go lol. She loves doing grownup stuff as she puts it. I said yes but while laundry is going the house needs picked up, that she doesn't like doing. I said that's part of it sweetie. She has been very helpful though, hovering over me like a mother hen. She unloaded the dishwasher yesterday without being asked. She said she was very very careful when she put the knives away. lol. I have to say the kids haven't fought very much since I have been sick. Not that I wanna be sick but I guess if I am always snoozing then they don't feel the need to fight and get yelled at. KKMommy wrote @ 8:57 AM... ||
Friday, August 1, 2008 STREP THROAT Really?! How did I get strep throat, I haven't been around anybody all friggin week. My fever came back this morning so I called my doc who seems to always be on vacation so they sent me to another one. I feel like crap I wasn't going to argue. I knew I had another fever when we got there cause I was freezing. Then we are sitting in the room and the man starts to rub my back, I move away. That has never happened. The man has great hands I generally move into a backrub but not today. I got up and went to the bathroom. You know the feeling you start getting sweaty and know you should go. So yeah first time for me. I got sick at the doctor's office. I came back and she was in there and I said add another symptom to that list. She prescribed a zpack. I took two today and I take one a day for the next 4 days. I hope this stuff works fast cause I feel like crap. I have dozed on and off all day. Mostly outside, which is where I am now. Its 87 degrees outside and I am wrapped up in a blanket if that tells you how bad it is. I will get back to reading blogs soon I hope, I miss all my bloggy friends. KKMommy wrote @ 4:23 PM... ||

FEVER Fever hit 102.5 last night at 1030pm so I downed a couple more tylenol, pretty much didn't sleep and was up at 2am making coffee. Dad said something about drinking coffee, you know something hot, so I finally did and my fever broke at 320am but its coming back again so I dunno I was going to go to the doctor until it broke but changed my mind, now that its starting to come back I'm thinking doctor again. grrrrrr KKMommy wrote @ 4:44 AM... ||
