Thursday, July 31, 2008 SICK I love getting comments that's no secret and I will reply to them when I get better but as you know I have a sore throat and NOW I have a fever and my eyes hurt. I hope to be back with it tomorrow this house is getting cluttered but at the moment I really don't care. KKMommy wrote @ 3:43 PM... ||
THURSDAY THOUGHTS I started back on Lexapro for my severe PMS symptoms and I'm happy to announce its working and sorry I ever went off it. I had been on it for a couple years but didn't think it was working so in December of last year I let it run out. Um yeah its bad when you notice and actually call yourself a grouchy bitch. Last month I was so aggitated and every little thing just ticked me off. This month I am mellow and nothing has bothered me and I haven't gotten mad at anything or anyone. I take these for 14 days out of the month starting them 9 days before I start. In the last two days I have read four books and have started on a fifth. Her Secret Past by Amanda Stevens a Harlequin Intrigue Cowgirl Be Mine by Elaine Nichols a Silhouette Special Edition Hot on Her Tail by Karen Anders a Harlequin Blaze (I'm keepin this one WOW) White Wolf by Lindsay McKenna a Silhouette Special Edition I have the kids school supplies sorted and ready to go into their school bags when I get them. One is on the way the other is backordered so I don't know if it will arrive before or after school starts, will need a backup bag just in case, I know the boy has one around here somewhere. The man took the kids to the park yesterday. They played for well over an hour while I was reading. I did go to one of the flower beds and take some flower pictures which didn't surprise the man at all. He said imagine that, you wanting to take pictures. :) I have a sore throat, I thought I felt a hint of one yesterday morning when I woke but then it kind of went away but not this morning its here and I have a feeling its the start of a cold, I hate summer colds, winter colds aren't so bad, you snuggle under a blanket and sleep it off cause who wants to go out in the frigid cold of winter. In the summer its too hot for blankets and I would rather be outside enjoying the fresh air. I need more coffee but don't wanna get up to get it. The kids are always leaving their rooms and leaving the lights and tvs on. I am so tempted to unscrew the lightbulbs and unplug the tvs and tell them we are having a power outtage. I'm thinking of running a babysitting ad. The extra money would come in handy right now. I'm sure I have waited too long and people have already lined up sitters for the school year. I would love to work at a store in town but I haven't worked since 1998 and to go in and say you have to put me on a schedule that would allow me days off when my kids don't go to school and if they are sick I cannot come to work. Yeah I'm sure that would go over well. pft Why can't there be any legitament work at home jobs?! Its going to rain and if it doesn't it sure looks like rain. KKMommy wrote @ 8:00 AM... ||
Tuesday, July 29, 2008 PICTURES Here are the rest of the pictures from our day at the track. It was for practice so I got them as they were coming into the pits.Just click the picture to be taken to the rest of them. Then click photostream on the right. KKMommy wrote @ 7:22 AM... ||
Monday, July 28, 2008 MONDAY MUSINGS I love my gladiolas. I don't like Mondays, just can't get motivated today. Nothing major planned. Trying to think of something to do that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I have a headache, its not going away with coffee so its not a caffine headache like I first thought. It rained early this morning. Everything is wet. I wanna be a photographer today. What will I take pics of?! Both vehicles are now clean and waxed, did the man's car the other day. Mentioned it to my mom, now she wants her van done, I still owe dad a wax job on his truck. Both BIG vehicles, oh joy!! Kids aren't fighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KKMommy wrote @ 9:45 AM... ||

Saturday, July 26, 2008 RACIN We went to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday. We parked outside since there were no pass outs. Walked around a bought a few things, I didn't find one friggin thing for me. We walked and walked, then back to the car for lunch. Ate lunch then went into the track, the man wanted on the inside behind pit road so through the tunnel we went. Up to the top of the bleachers, where after an hour of sitting he decides he wants to go back to the other side. So down we went and through the tunnel and then he decides he wants on the top of the highest set of bleachers which meant numerous steps. the boy is afraid of heights. I mean he's afraid of going up tall things, once up he's fine. We get nearly there and the man says I don't think we can go in there. the boy is telling me he's afraid so I gather him on my back and down I go. My niece was with us and she comes down with me. We wait and wait for the man and the girl to come down they don't. So up we go again at this point I am pissed cause he kept going and didn't bother to come back down for us. Just one of a number of things he did that day that just pissed me off. Did I mention the mil was there, oh yes that just makes him more bitchy. So we get up there and sit I ignore him for the first hour of practice cause the last thing I wanna do is talk to him. I ignored him for the next hour and a half after that too but see I used the noise as an excuse, you can't hear anything lol. We go to leave so its back down the steps the boy held my hand and did just fine. We go back to the car, head home, eat dinner - same stuff we took for lunch. Then mil leaves for her house and the man heads to his chair. The girl, the boy and the niece and I crash out in the living room watching Friends. This is where the boy the girl and I woke up this morning, I looked and the niece must have made her way to the girls bed at some point lol. My legs hurt this morning. Here are a few pics...... The boy with his faves... with his cousin the girl with her faves I know not nascar but she saw it and wanted her picture taken with cutey pie KKMommy wrote @ 8:17 PM... ||
Friday, July 25, 2008 ALOHA FRIDAY Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Brought to you by my friend Kailani. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. She thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, she'll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing heavy or too thought-provoking. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at her site. (click on her name or the aloha tag to get there) Don’t forget to visit the other participants! Thursday, July 24, 2008 R.I.P.-UPDATE I got up and swept the house this morning. I swept the living room. I swept the hallways. I swept the boy's room. I swept the girl's room. I swept the man and I's room. I started in the kitchen and half way through the sweeper stops running. Thinking I pulled the plug out of the wall I go check. Nope its still plugged in. I check the breaker box, knowing I didn't trip it cause the light in the bathroom was still on.My sweeper is dead. Will not start. Any chance it will start later after it has taken its nap?! If not RIP my sweeper its been a good two years. UPDATE Called dad and talked to him and he said sometimes there is a reset switch, did you wait and then try it again. Yeah and I got nothin, So the man and I took it apart and cleaned it all out. Then I get the manual and look at the trouble shooting guide. Oh yes it has a thermal protector that will shut it down to keep it from burning up the motor. So that said you have to unplug it for 30 minutes and then try again. We did and it WORKS yeah. So glad we didn't rush out and buy one without looking into this one lol. I can sweep again and don't have to bury this one. KKMommy wrote @ 9:57 AM... ||
Tuesday, July 22, 2008 THUNDERING TUESDAY Thundering Tuesday is what I will dub today, why, because it started at midnight and didn't stop til sometime this morning. I quit looking at the clock cause it kept me awake all night. It was loud. I assume it rained but didn't hear it. Still to get up this morning to 60 degree weather instead of muggy hot 80s was a nice and welcomed change. Kids are loving VBS they are really getting into the songs and learning about the importance of thanking and helping others. They have so much fun they don't even miss me for that 2 hours and 45 minutes. Me on the other hand, well I get kind of bored with them gone lol. I made brownies and peanut butter cookies yesterday with my free time. What am I going to do with the girl. She is struggling in math. Its more a matter of memorizing the basic facts so will be stepping up the flash card usage and see if that works any better than facts on paper where she has to write the answers. She sometimes has trouble with basic addition and subtraction but the one that really worries me is the multiplication basic facts. She will be going into 4th grade and they start multiplying double digits she's no where near ready for that. I think this will be a subject she will always struggle with. I hope she proves me wrong though. KKMommy wrote @ 7:15 AM... ||

RELAXING SUNDAY The girl and her grandpa watching the pond to see if the turtle will pop his head out of the water. Dad sits out there quite a bit waiting to catch a glimpse of the big snapping turtle that is in there. Nobody knows how it got there. The Boy jumping up and down saying I'm bored bored bored. All I saw was a bunch of dragon flies Card fun, I showed the kids how to build stuff with the cards. The boy built this The girl built this (I couldn't get past two cards) Then of course they had to do the monkey bars, now of course the boy has blisters on each hand. Here he goes Here he is trying to encourage the girl to come across, she's afraid of heights or falling or something. See his hands, clapping saying, come on you can do it Here she finally goes That was our relaxing Sunday, we also had salmon cakes for supper, mmmmmm good. I don't fix them here cause I'm the only one who likes them. My parents and I are the only ones who ate them yesterday, had to fix the kids something different and my brother #2 and his lazy do nothing girlfriend something else too. Brother doesn't like salmon. Now you are probably wondering why his girlfriend doesn't fix his dinner. She doesn't like to cook which is why I refer to her as lazy do nothing because she doesn't like to do anything but let's not get me started on that. KKMommy wrote @ 8:32 AM... ||
Saturday, July 19, 2008 MY WORK, THAT'S ODD Here are a few of the cross stitch projects I have finished and will more than likely give out as christmas gifts this year. The Wolf Mom and her cubs
The Fish
The Shadow Box
Birds ![]() The day before yesterday there were some, I would say college aged kids, walking around the neighborhood selling magazines. I know cause in the past they have stopped here before so I told the man when they knocked on the door to not answer it. Yesterday apparently a different group of kids were in the area supposedly selling magazines but they were asking people if they could use their bathrooms. Why? So they could steal prescription drugs that's why. Our neighbor was one that let them in his house and said he had a prescription for vicodin that he had filled but never took any and said he knew there were 20 pills in there. Well he got a call from another neighbor saying something wasn't right with those kids the way they were acting, the boy ran into one guys yard and grabbed up his water hose and squirted the girl with it, you don't just go in someone's yard and do stuff like that, They also said the boy was talking 90 miles a minute saying he was from North Dakota and selling magazines for some company trying to raise enough money to go to Rome. So anyway the neighbor checked and 10 of his vicodin's were gone. Not sure if they took anyone else's pills. I didn't know anything was going on til My boy said something about an officer's car by our mailbox. So I go out and the officer is next door by the road looking in the grass. Apparently found all ten of the other neighbors pills. This is what I find odd. Why would they go to all the trouble of getting inside the house and risk getting caught taking pills and then throw them in a yard two houses away. I don't know why but its been bugging me since the neighbor told me about it. Definately put our neighborhood on alert though. I told the kids that there was a lesson to be learned from this and asked them what it was. "To never answer the door to people you don't know" Yes and Don't let them in the house.

Friday, July 18, 2008 HOT, FLOWERS Its HOT, and I don't mean just HOT I mean MUGGY STICKY ICKY HOT. How does one motivate ones self to do anything when its that hot out. Oh I know, You Don't! ugh I just sat yesterday and listened to some tunes and worked on a cross stitch. Tried sitting outside to do this because if you don't move when you are outside its not half bad but it finally got to me and I had to come in.I ordered The Boy a skateboard and backpack set from ltd commodities. I figured a backpack he needs for school, the skateboard he just wants so badly, but its back ordered til next month. He asks every day if its here. The boy is excited The Man is NOT happy about this. Why did you do that? He doesn't need one of those. Why not, we had them when we were kids, although Brother #2 was the only one that really got into it. He went all out bought a fancy one, had numerous wheels he could change. Did the stunts, ahhhhhh there it is. That's why the man doesn't want the boy to have one. We got the electric bill the other day. I made the man open it cause lets face it I was too scared to open it. Normally our electric falls around $60 to $70 a month. It was $90 which is cheaper than I figured, cause I figured with the AC running it would double so I was happy with that, although I will run away before the next one comes. We got a letter from the gas company the other day too. I knew it was coming.I was scared. They reevaluate the budget amount this time every year. Depending on a number of things to let you know what your new budget amount will be taking into account what they think the price of gas will be this winter. I had heard things would double to what they were last year. Our budget was $96 at the end of the year we had a credit, thank god, because that saved us from having a new huge budget amount. Our budget went to $103 a month, whew. I was all prepared and pissy and ready to call them and say no way can I afford no $180 a month which honestly is what I thought it was going to be. So another nice surprise, still not happy anything goes up but it could have been worse right?!

STROKE, GOLF, BLOOD Why is it going to the grocery store comes close to giving me a stroke?!Kind of ranks right up there with getting gas. I guess that's my main gripe today since I beat the rush and did shopping earlier. The Man wasn't able to stop at the store on his way home from work since he took last night off. He was having back trouble the last two days. Today he says he needs to stretch out his back soooooo he went golfing....you heard me. Golfing which is probably why he had a backache to begin with. Kids are continuing to fight and argue nonstop. The girl thinks she is the boss for some reason. The boy refuses to listen to her cause you know he's six so he knows it ALL. Last night they were playing in the backyard and he grabs her and she elbows him in the nose eye area. He screams. I yell. Play time is over, because once again we have to stop the bleeding from his nose. I figured he would have a black eye this morning but he doesn't thank goodness. Today I'm trying to get ahold of my hair stylist and see if I can get a trim later today. I don't think I will have Kaylie's hair trimmed til next month so its closer to school starting time. Thursday, July 10, 2008 RELAX, NOSE, MORE PICS Yesterday was like I said it was going to be doing nothing all day lol. I got up and my ankles hurt from all the walking the day before. Kids must have been tired too cause they didn't pester me to go out and play. So we just stayed in the house and relaxed.Little accident last night though. The boy had a shirt on and it might have been a tad too small and the girl was determined to get it off him despite me telling her to let him do it himself. Well she tugs and it slips and he bangs his face into either the wall or the floor I'm not sure which because they had left the living room. So there was screaming, there was blood, there was a sore nose. Got the bleeding stopped and the boy calmed down. The girl has had a bad habit of hitting him in the face with a ball while they are out playing. She calls it dodgeball I call it being mean cause when he tells her it hurts she should stop. Well I think seeing him bleeding really got to her so hoping they get along a little better now and she respects him more. No major plans for today either other than laundry and the sun is shining so I will be hanging the clothing out YES! I will leave you with more pictures of our Conner Prairie trip. The blacksmith in his shop, he gave the kids a nail to take home.

Tuesday, July 8, 2008 CONNER PRAIRIE Yesterday we tried going up north to a state park. I learned one thing about the state parks up north, they suck. The Indiana state parks are so much better down south. We were so tired from doing nothing we just chalked it up to a bad day and it was Monday to boot.Today our journey took us to Conner Prairie and it was a better day. Some pictures.... First stop the Conner Homestead Conner House
The kids grinding sand outside the pottery shop
The outside of this one is made of tree bark, the other one in the background is made of corn stalks
The kids milking a cow
Then we stopped for dinner, shared meals made it half the price it would have surely cost us. Then we stopped at a little park on the way home so the kids could play. Where they found the energy is beyond me cause The Man and I were very tired. We all came home and took a nap lol. KKMommy wrote @ 7:40 PM... ||
Monday, July 7, 2008 QUESTION-WHAT IS IT? The girl kept saying something yellow is in the tree. What? I go look .....What is it? I have never in my life seen one of these before but it attached to our tree for two days laying eggs most of which landed on the ground apparently but some landed on a limb. It was gone this morning. Near as I can tell, by comparing to pictures online, it might be an imperial moth? But hey if anyone knows what it is, Let me know! Here are some pics at different angles and the eggs its laying.

Sunday, July 6, 2008 FORGET ME NOT This is the first time I have ever gotten Forget Me Nots to actually grow and bloom, but they are pretty little flowers when they do. I had to restore my computer back to factory settings yesterday. I had done this earlier this year or late last year. The process seemed easy back then but apparently I am missing the drivers cd that came with this computer because the one I had went to the man's computer. So after restoring all I had on this desktop was the recycle bin and none of the drivers or programs on that cd will work. So I have to hop on the man's and contact dell via chat, he remote access's The Man's computer to download the drivers and utilities I will need for mine to a cd for me. I take the cd and put it in mine and download all those drivers. Then dell remote access's mine to make sure it has everything and it does. I thank the tech several times cause I was seriously near tears that I had screwed up this computer for good. Then I spent the next few hours only putting in the programs that I would use. Leaving off the ones I wouldn't. I managed to save my writings to my hotmail in drafts because before restoring this stupid thing would not let me save things to a disc. So the 120 pictures I took on the 4th of July are gone gone gone. Except the ones I posted here yesterday. Lovely! KKMommy wrote @ 9:43 AM... ||

I go, with my camera, because I know what he's doing.First he sprays a plastic bowl with Pam spray, then he cracks his own egg into the bowl, then he gets a fork and stirs it up
Then he puts it in the microwave and hits the Time button then 1 0 0 and start

Wednesday, July 2, 2008 YOU GOTTA BE KIDDIN ME! We went out to eat, cause we don't do that much anymore. I think, aside from the money situation, I now know why. We go to this little china buffet bar. Kids 2.99 adults 5.99. Cool right? WRONG Did you know they consider 9 and up adult? I said she's not an adult she's a kid, she's 9. The lady tells me 8 and under child, over that adult. Seriously people I had to pick my jaw up off the floor, the girl only ate one plate of food if that, she wanted to go there and all but I don't think she was that hungry and it sure wasn't worth no 5.99 for that little dab of food. I told her I hope you enjoyed it cause we won't be going back. We have come to the conclusion that if its not fast food then we just won't eat out cause we cannot as a family of 4 eat at a restaurant for less than $20. Today's meal should have been right under that if they had not considered a 9 year old an adult. See these places are finding ways to pay for the high delivery costs, first they up the price on every thing then they charge you for extras like mayo, yeah actually had a restaurant charge me for a tiny dab of mayo. We haven't been back since. KKMommy wrote @ 1:26 PM... ||
Tuesday, July 1, 2008 CAMPING, BRRRRRRR I decided since the weather was going to be nice the next few days to set up the tent yesterday. So set it up, yeah that wind didn't blow until I took it out of the box. Go figure! Set it up, had to send The Man for an extension hose for the air compresser cause let's face it, blowing up a high rise queen size air mattress with a foot pump is gonna take all week. Note to self: when watching the weather checking for rain be sure to pay attention to the temperature. Somebody please remind me that 50 degrees is VERY COLD when sleeping in a tent! This would be me trying to warm my nose.
Had to get up early this morning so I could get The Boy ready for speech class. After that we came home and did some school time. The Boy is learning about place value and seems to be picking it up quite nicely. The Girl is still trying to master her basic multiplication, she struggles in math it seems so the extra practice has to help her at some point. She also isn't finished with her homework as she has an autobiography to write on herself. We are going putt putting later today with The Man's peewee baseball team. The last get together for the year. Should be fun! KKMommy wrote @ 1:17 PM... ||
